The House — Founder
Anna Viaznikova

Anna Viaznikova is a photographer, journalist and founder of HERZ HOUSE. Born in Lysychansk, Ukraine, she is now based in Tartu, Estonia.
Before moving to Estonia, Anna worked as a journalist and photographer in Ukraine. From the beginning of her professional practice, photography has been closely connected to portraiture, documentary observation and visual storytelling.
In Tartu, Anna continued her photographic work and founded her own photo studio, SÄRA, at Aparaaditehas. Aparaaditehas describes her as a photographer and journalist from Eastern Ukraine.
In 2023, Anna presented her solo exhibition “Kaotatud paradiis”(“Lost Paradise”) at the Physicum Art Gallery of the University of Tartu. The university describes her as a Ukrainian photographer from Lysychansk who lives and works in Tartu.
Her photographs have also been published and credited by Estonian cultural and media organisations. ERR used a photograph of Ukrainian artist Viktoria Berezina with the credit “Source: Anna Viaznikova.” Her photograph of Berezina’s work was also credited to Anna in the AkzoNobel Art Prize 2025 materials.
In 2025, Anna photographed guests at the Estonian Fashion Festival / Mood-Performance-Tants for Haute Mood, where her photographs were published as part of an editorial feature on the event’s most distinctive looks.
Her photographic archive includes portrait, family, conceptual and reportage work. Her 35PHOTO profile contains more than 250 published photographs and reflects different stages of her practice in Ukraine and Estonia. Her name has also appeared among photographers from Tartu in the international 35AWARDS competition.
Today, Anna is developing HERZ HOUSE, an independent project bringing together photography, contemporary art, cinema, writing, interviews and other forms of visual and documentary storytelling.
HERZ HOUSE grew from HERZ Magazine, founded by Anna as a space for author-driven photography and stories connected to art and human experience. The project is now expanding beyond the magazine into essays, interviews, cinema, journeys and other stories about people and the world around them.
For Anna, photography is not only a way of making images, but also a way of observing, asking questions and preserving stories.
